We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic dairy head herdsperson to join our successful organic dairy farm. we run a closed herd of approximately 180 milking cows with 250 cattle in total including followers. cows are milked twice daily through a recently updated 30/30 parlour with gea heat detection collars supporting herd management. we retain our heifers as herd replacements, with beef calves sold off. Main duties include: milking twice a day calf rearing from birth to weaning feeding cows and youngstock cleaning sand cubicles and maintaining clean, comfortable housing monitoring cattle health and welfare helping with general day to day dairy farm details About you: The ideal candidate will have dairy farming experience, a strong interest in livestock and high standards of animal care. you should be dependable, practical and able to work independently and as a part of a team. Experience in artificial insemination and foot trimming is preferred, but not essential. Accommodation is provided with the position. renumeration to be discussed and is based on experience.
